In the midsize SUV class, the Ford Explorer is routinely one of the standouts, as any Ford Explorer dealer can tell you. It offers the space you need and the fuel efficiency you deserve.

Excellent Power

The Ford Explorer comes with a turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft torque.

The available engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that pumps out 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is available.

Strong Fuel Efficiency

For the midsize SUV class, the Ford Explorer gets very nice gas mileage. The base engine with rear-wheel drive offers 21 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway.

With four-wheel drive, you will get 20 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. The V6 engine will give you 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway with rear-wheel drive and 18 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway with four-wheel drive.

Tons of Space

The Ford Explorer has a big cabin that can accommodate up to seven people, and all three rows are roomy.

You’ll also enjoy all of the space for cargo: 18.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 47.9 cubic feet when it’s down, and 87.8 cubic feet with both rear rows folded. Plus, a power liftgate comes standard.

Numerous Advanced Features

Every Ford Explorer comes with a user-friendly infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen. You will also get:
