How Much Power Do these Trucks Offer?

If you’re looking for muscle with your pickup, none of the F-Series trucks will disappoint. While the base Ford F-150 comes with a 3.3-liter V6 powertrain that produces 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, those numbers can go up substantially. With the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter high-output EcoBoost® V6 engine, you will get 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.

The Ford F-250 takes things up a couple of notches. Its base engine is a 6.2-liter V8 that puts out 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a 7.3-liter V8 that will give you 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.

Finally, with the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 configuration, you will get 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. The Ford F-350 has the same engine choices, but with even more towing power.

How Much Can They Tow and Haul?

You’ll have no complaints with the towing or hauling ability of any Ford F-Series truck. When properly equipped, the Ford F-150 has a tow rating of 14,000 pounds. It can also haul up to 3,325 pounds.

If you go with the Ford F-250 with the turbodiesel engine and a fifth wheel and gooseneck hitch, you’ll be able to tow up to 22,800 pounds. Its maximum payload is 4,260 pounds.

And while the Ford F-350 can tow up to 24,200 pounds with a regular trailer hitch, with a fifth wheel and gooseneck hitch, that increases to 37,000 pounds. Plus, it can haul up to 7,850 pounds.
